THE CLEM MILDERMOE TAPES
Clem Mildermoe, a supermarket food bagger from Tupelo, Mississippi,
claims to have recorded a phone conversation with the "allegedly"
demised Elvis Presley. The excerpt below is a portion of it. The
full recorded encounter, and other eerie recorded messages presumably
from the King appear in "The Return of the King?" home video. |

INVESTIGATING SOURCE CREDIBILITY:
A Brief History of Clem Mildermoe
Clem Mildermoe works at the FOOD MART Supermarket. As a high school
drop out, Clem was able to lunge into the job market ahead of all his peers. Though he started as a stock boy, Clem's hard
work and dedication has carried him up the corporate ladder. Just
eight years later, Clem was the store's number one bag boy and
was even a one time recepient of the coveted Bagger of the Month award. At the time of his incredible encounter, Clem had earned
a reputation for being responsible and trustworthy... and recalls
having to,"%*@#ing lock up the stupid store!" one night when the
manager fell ill.
When some accused Clem of being a dishonest, fame craving, opportunist
in it for the money, his publicist pointed out that although the
recorded phone conversation with Elvis had brought notariety,
Clem's newly authored coloring book (pictured below) has received dismal sales. His publicist further defended Clem,
revealing that the book idea occured prior to the controversial
phone call, excluding of course the part where Elvis calls him
at the place he works. |
